Sensory Dough – a winner

We asked Support Workers “what creative activity are you most likely to ‘do’ with the people you support?

The sensory dough was a winner.

Sensory Dough .

No cooking method

1 cup of salt

2 cups of plain flour

1 table spoon of cream of tartar

2 table spoons of food colouring or paint

2 cup of boiling water

4 tablespoons of oil

Apart from the cooking oil, place all the ingredients in a bowl and mix together.

Then add the oil and mix.

Let the dough cool.

You can add different textures- uncooked rice, dried lentils today I added sawdust.

You can add different smells- a few drops of lavender oil.

You can push things into it- dry pasta, twigs, lolly sticks.

Explore – enjoy the journey of sensory discovery.

Save any clean dough in an airtight container in the fridge.
